TIGER for Woodlands and Compartments (TIGER WC) is at least a little different from one state to another. For some details of the program, such as the minimum DBH accepted, are the same for all states, and other details, such as the list of species, are different for each state.
TIGER WC uses a unique USFS-developed growth model for each of the three divisions of states: Central (IA, IL, IN, MO), Lake (MI, MN, WI), and Northeast ()
Every state's version of TIGER WC has a set of maximum and minimum values that have been preset for various characteristics, such as the tallest tree height accepted, the highest site index, etc. Some of these values can be permanently be changed. If you have particular concerns about these limits, please contact us or email at CWMProgrammers@yahoo.com.
TIGER WC users have a number of volume tables available for estimating cord and board foot volumes. Every state has preset (default) cord and board foot volume tables. These tables can be changed, and new defaults can be set for each user. Additionally, if you want to use a board foot volume table that is not built into TIGER, you can enter a table into TIGER and use that table.
